John Butler Trio on tour for their “Flesh and Blood” album at the Fonda Theatre, Hollywood, CA. It was a pilgrimage for Lewis Cooper and I to travel to CA to see one of our favorite bands, JBT. I had been listening to the new album the entire week before the concert and thought my favorite songs were, “Livin’ In The City”, because I got out of my desk chair and danced the first time I heard it. Also, I was grooving on “Only One”, but at the concert the list shifted. I cried when John explained his motivation for “Spring To Come”. We had just said goodbye to a friend who couldn’t wait for spring and took his own life. I hope that John knows how impactful his lyric are for us fans. I selected the above image because I appreciate that John always dedicates his performances to our native ancestors.

Huge bonus for me was picking up a solo album from the mech table, “John Butler Tin Shed Tales”, it may be my favorite of his CD’s. It was recorded live in Australia and John spends time talking about each song. Really looking forward to seeing the guys again in their upcoming shows at Boulder Theatre and Red Rocks in June.  To see more of my live music photos you can go to my Flickr page http://www.flickr.com/photos/69736501@N04/sets/72157641513334874/.  Also, coming soon I recorded a couple of the songs during the concert. I will post them on my Renee Ramge Photography Facebook page. Give my FB page a “like” and keep watch for the video post. Also, you can see my Flickr post of the opener for JBT, Little Hurricane. They’re a powerful duo that we’ll be keeping a watch out for more live performances. Little Hurricane’s new album, Gold Rush is coming out in March.
